Subliminal Persuasion
Subliminal persuasion has occurred whenever a message has been percieved by our sub-conscious mind and bypassed by our conscious mind. This message may arrive in the form of a visual or aural stimulus which 'escapes' being percieved by our ordinary senses. An example of this is subliminal advertising which makes us suddenly desire popcorn or coke. In fact our minds are constantly being influenced subliminally. It is possible to use subliminal persuasion to change our beliefs about ourselves, which in turn can lead to focussing our mind on new goals and changing our behaviour patterns.
